Bill Beach is a jazz pianist, vocalist and songwriter from the United States. He has been playing since the late 1970s in Portland, Oregon. With a polished approach to the piano and warm supple voice, Beach plays jazz and bossa nova standards as well as his original music. Beach started learning to play the piano at the age seven. Taking a great interest in jazz in his early teens, he was influenced by Dave Brubeck and Bill Evans. Including the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim and Sergio Mendez, which Beach listened to when he was young, he started in 2003 to study bossa nova introduced by Jo o Gilberto, Vinicius De Moraes, Carlos Lyra and Jo o Donato plus the later MPB styles of Milton Nascimento, Ivan Lins and others.
