In reply to my pointed question, "What are the chapters that you found to enlist especial attention?" he replied, "Those containing the Ten Commandments, the Twenty--Third Psalm, and The Sermon on the Mount." This shows that the Yiddishspeaking people of this city are after the fundamentals. I have tried casually among groups of friends whom I have met in the evening to introduce the subject of the Bible, and find a quick response, showing that the Bible has not altogether gone out of the minds of this generation as some people have seemed to intimate.
