When Bluey Macintosh adds a Bengal tiger named Bhajan to his mobile zoo, he is merely trying to change a few minds-maybe even a few hearts. But Bhajan, raised by an Indian mast, one of the so-called god-intoxicated, has a different plan. He intends to change the world. And does. Bhajan purrs-a phenomenon unknown in tigers-for six hours each night, and his purr has a mesmerizing effect on the inner being of all who hear it, including the other animals. Bluey and his crew of four embark on a journey which leads them to deepening consciousness, widening courage, and love. And they will need all the love and courage they can find to confront JJ, a nearly mad Iraq war vet, whose arrival at the compound changes more

About Tim Garvin

I live on three and a half acres near Durham, North Carolina, with a wife, Cynthia, and a dog, Blue, both excellent companions. The idea for Bhajan came thirty-five years ago. I didn't write it that year, or the next, and so on. I tried now and then, but not hard. I needed to ripen, and knew it, and eventually did. I began to write three years ago in a cabin built especially to write this book. I plan to write more there. In a sense, Bhajan is a letter to the twenty year old kid I was when I first noticed the inner world and became a seeker. Now, after a dozen or so trips to India to visit the tomb of Meher Baba and be in company with his mandali, the companions who lived with him, I am less a seeker than a pursuer. What else? I grew up in Arizona, then in the Alaskan wilderness. I live beside a creek. I have beloved children and grandchildren. I enjoy thinking. I am also a potter and make millefiori porcelain jewelry. Visit to see it. What else? A whole vast life, like more
