About Raymond Marcus

Raymond Marcus was born in New York City, and served in World War II as a signal corpsman. After the war, he graduated from Brooklyn College and earned his master's from Columbia University thanks to the GI Bill and government-supported programs. He then went on to a distinguished career as a schoolteacher in the city. In the mid-1960's Mr. Marcus became a Newspaper Fund Fellow and also earned an award as the "Journalism Teacher of the Year." He and his late wife Ethel raised three now-grown children. Mr. MArcus enjoys classical music and nurturing homeless cats,show more
