Not illustrated. 1902 edition. Excerpt: ... Vestbanen railway station. At Drammen (express 1 hr. 30 m.) carriages are sometimes changed. Buffet. Before reaching Drammen the line makes a considerable curve, and descending a steep gradient after passing Roken station a beautiful view of the Drammensfjord and town is obtained from the carriage windows on the 1. The line is on the whole picturesque, especially where the Tvri-Fjord lake is skirted and beyond Henefos. At Henefos (4!/2 hrs. from Christiania) those who have taken Route 6 join the train. The lake str. pier at Randsfjord lies immediately below the railway station, and the steamer starts shortly after the arrival of the train. Route 7. Christiania to Bergen via Odnaes and Valders. The posting station at Eandsfjord is Neessetbakken (15 Kil. from Hanefos). Pretty situation with a fine view across the Randsfjord lake and river. The Hadeland Glass Works lie close by here. The Berger or Neessetbakken Hotel is a good place for the steamer's' down-passengers to dine at, before the train starts. There is a table d'hote on board the steamer for the up-going passengers. The comfortable steamer Oscar II runs on the Randsfjord Lake in correspondence with the morning train from Christiania (noon from Henefos). The steamer leaves the northern end of the lake--Odnaes--every morning at about 6.30 (see Tab.) arriving at Randsfjord abt. noon, where it corresponds with the train from Randsfjord Station to Henefos and Christiania. Steamer fare from Randsfjord station to Odnaes, and vise versa, Kr. 4.00. The steamer calls at Roikenvik (both in going tip and down the lake) whence a new Railway Line to Christiania has been opened (in 1900).
