Description

Being Fish People is a Bible study designed for use by small groups or individuals and is based on the book Living with Fish People by Ansel Elliott. It is not so much a study that gives you all the answers, but rather helps you to develop doctrinally sound answers to common questions and opinions people often have about Christianity. While studying selections from the book Living with Fish People and related Scripture passages, you will work through a series of questions and scenarios designed to get you thinking about how you can share your faith and how you might answer objections to Christianity from your peers. The original book, Living with Fish People, was written and published by Ansel Elliott in 2015 for non-Christians as one way to open dialogue between Christians and those who live alongside them in everyday life. The hope has always been that unbelievers would gain a deeper understanding of their Christian peers as they read and absorb the gospel message. "This study was designed to help equip you to intelligently discuss the Christian faith with your non-Christian peers, not by giving you canned answers and catchy comebacks, and not by giving you all the answers, but by helping you to develop theologically sound answers in your own tongue. This study is about coming to a deeper understanding of what you believe as a Christian and why you believe it." -- Ansel C. Elliottshow more

About Ansel C Elliott

Ansel C. Elliott is an avid outdoorsman, lay speaker, and writer with an extensive background in various blue collar industries and in stage and film. He resides in the south-central region of Pennsylvania with his wife and their pets. Ansel knew early in life that he wanted to be a story teller, a trait that he says he inherited from his paternal grandfather. Whether tall tales of grand adventures, classic literature, or the retelling of real historical events, stories have always fascinated him. Ansel has a deep love for history, especially as it relates to the founding of America and our religious Christian heritage. He also loves studying history and the sciences related to creation and maintains a deep commitment to the truth, authority, and accuracy of God's Word as it is revealed in the Bible. "I think too many people take a low view of Scripture and argue against its infallibility and inerrancy without truly understanding the definitions and various aspects of those terms." he says. Ansel's work tends to reflect his convictions, sometimes subtly and at other times quite pointedly, however he always strives to avoid letting his stories become too preachy. As he puts it, "It's important to me that my fictional books are a vehicle for proclaiming the Gospel, but I always want to see that happen as part of a great story. Likewise, it's important to me that my nonfiction work is enjoyable and accessible, so I always try to write those books in a way that makes them conversational and easy to read."show more
