Behind The Scenes: Life as a Crime Scene Investigator
As a young college graduate, Patrick Malone yearns to find a job that helps people, and settles on fighting crime as the way he wants to help. He has a problem: his physical dimensions. At 5'6" height, tipping the scales at 130 pounds, he faces considerable difficulty finding a police agency that is willing to hire him. With a little bit of help from a friend, and a bit of the luck of the Irish, he lands a job and is on his way toward his dream: to be a crime scene investigator--a CSI! After a lengthy and difficult learning period, he finally achieves his dream, only to discover that an even more difficult learning period lies ahead. Along the way, he learns how difficult it is to live as a law enforcement officer. Low pay and lack of public respect are only the beginning. Dangerous and repulsive crime scenes unfold around him, and his sanity is tested to the limit, along with his ability to survive extreme hazards greater than just being in the sights of criminals' weapons.
