Becoming a Basketball Player: Offensive Moves
This video series provides a complete programme of innovative drills and learning progressions that will help players develop every area of their game. Developed by Hal Wissel, a scout and coach for over 20 years, the series is useful for novice coaches who want to learn how to teach specific basketball skills, more experienced coaches who want drill ideas for their practices and players who want to work on basketball skills on their own. This video covers offensive moves. It teaches players a variety of offensive moves - like the crossover dribble, drop step and ball fake - that should help keep opponents off balance. Other videos in the series include: shooting, which teaches correct technique for the range of basketball shots; defense and rebounding, should help players develop the lateral quickness for playing defence and the jumping ability important in rebounding; ball handling, which should help players develop confidence in dribbling, passing and catching the basketball; and offensive moves off dribble, which provides additional offensive moves, including power moves, changes of pace, reverse moves and speed and footfire dribbles.
