Be A Good One
Two sets of sisters in New England in 1830 begin their adult lives. They go from Litchfield to Hartford, from the Brattleboro Water Cure where "women were douched, splashed, showered, soaked, sweated, and encouraged to remain nude," to a seminary in Andover; with a sister from one set setting up a school for orphans to a sister in the other set - Harriet Beecher Stowe - becoming "the little lady who wrote the book that started this war."
