Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Barry John (born 6 January 1945 in Cefneithin, Wales) is a former Welsh rugby union fly-half. He played club rugby for both Llanelli and Cardiff and also represented invitational touring side the Barbarians. John is remembered for forming one of the most famous half-back pairing in world rugby with Cardiff and Wales team mate Gareth Edwards. John won 25 caps for the Wales national team, but it was his role in the 1971 British Lions tour to New Zealand that he played some of his finest rugby, finishing as the Lions top Test scorer. He retired from rugby at the age of 27, citing the pressure of fame and expectation behind his decision. He is considered by many to be the greatest fly-half in the sport's history, and became known as "The King."
