And thus a charger wild champs gaily up the road To where we greet the queen--the mother of my load! And then the horsey kneels upon the clover bed And throws his rider bold in triumph o'er his head! The summer days are gone and o'er my heart is laid The sere of Autumn time. In sorrow where he played I wait in vain--and sob at night beside his bed. No more we charge along the road--My boy is dead! But up above in realms where little boys are glad, I know my baby, lost on earth, is waiting for his "dad!" THE BOY LAND. Where the pathway skirts the river And the sunbeams glint and quiver On the babbling waters, crooning to the bi!lows of their joysVhere the fragrant trail leads over Field and stream and through the clover, I am gliding with my fishpole to a land just made for boys!
