On Saturdays work _shall commence at 8 a.m. and finish at a quarter to 12 noon. 2. The minimum rate of pay for all general labouring-work during the hours set out in section 1, except as otherwise provided in this recommendation, shall be 1s. 1d. per hour. Except as otherwise provided in this recommendation, for work done before 8 a.m. and after 5 p.m. on other days than Saturdays, Sundays, and statutory holidays the payment shall be at the rates of time and a quarter for the first two hours or part thereof worked, and time and a half for the time worked after the first two hours. On Saturdays before 8 a.m. and after 11.45 a.m. time and a quarter rate shall be paid for the first two hours or part thereof worked, and time and a half for the time after the first two hours. For work done on Sundays and statutory holidays double the rate for ordinary time shall be paid. Where one or two men only are required to be at work on a job at 7.30 a.m., or between that and 8 a.m., then ordinary rate of pay may be paid to the said one or two men for that half-hour or portion of the half-hour. 3. In the event of any worker having to work outside the boundaries of the City of Wellington, his fare shall be paid to and from his work, or time-allowance whilst travelling to and from his work. 4.
