Floral Parade Will Be an Annual Affair Washington turned out en masse Thursday to see the automobile floral parade arranged by the Chamber of Commerce. The great outpouring of people to witness the pageant was a revelation to the promoters of the parade, and it has been decided to make the event an annual affair. The grand marshal of the parade was W. D. West, president of the Automobile Club of Washington. The cars that competed in the Munsey reliability tour headed the parade, and the drivers received an ovation all along the line. The sweepstakes prize, a $600 rose bowl, donated by the Chamber of Commerce, was won by a float entered by employes of the Naval gun factory. The vehicle was a 5-ton Studebaker truck, which was decorated with American Beauty roses and laurel leaves. The first prize for cars decorated with natural flowers only was won by Harry Wardman, whose Pope-Toledo was designed as a Venetian gondola and decorated with pink and white chrysanthemums. The rose-decorated Waverly electric of Mrs. T. B. Spence was an easy winner in the class for flower-decorated electric machines with women drivers.
