Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Armond White (born 1953) is a New York-based film and music critic. He is known for his provocative and idiosyncratic film criticism, which has often been described as contrarian. He is currently the lead film critic for the alternative weekly New York Press. Other publications that have carried his work include The City Sun, Film Comment, The Nation, The New York Times, Slate, and First Things. White was born in Detroit, Michigan as the youngest of seven children. His family was the first African-American family to move to a primarily Jewish neighborhood, where he grew up. Raised Baptist, he later became Pentecostal, and still identifies himself as "a believer."show more
