The Oregon war debt; length of loan: 2D years; bonds were redeemable July 1,1881; they bore interest at 6%, payable semi-annually. 2. The Loan of July and August, 1861; length of loan, 20 years; redeemable after June 30, 1881; interest at 6$, payable semi-annually. (b) Five-Twenties (5-20s) of 1864 and 1866. These bonds were issued in 1864-5: they were redeemable after 5 years, and payable in 20 years; they bore interest at 6J6, payable semi-annually, in coin. There were also 5-20s of 1862. (c) The Seven-Thirties (7-30s) of 1864 and 1865. These bonds were issued in 1864-5; they were redeemable August 15,1867. June 15. and July 15, 1868; they bore interest at payable semi-annually, in lawful money. There were also 7-30s or 1861. (d) The Ten-Forties (10-40s) of 1864. These bonds were issued in 1864, and were redeemable after 10 years, and payable in 40 years from date; they bore interest at 5$, payable semi-annually, both bonds and interest were payable in coin. (c) The Five Per Cent Loan of 1881. These bonds were issued in 181, redeemable May 1,1881, and bore interest at b%, payable quarterly, in coin. G22. Outstanding Issues of United States Bonds on July i, 1896. (a) Four-And-One-Half Per Cent Loan of 1891. These were bonds issued in 1877, and redeemable September 1,1891; they bore interest at 4%%, payable quarterly, in coin. This loan has been continued indefinitely at 2%; the amount outstanding July 1, 1896, was $25,753,650. (b) The Four Per Cent Loan of 1907.
