Anthony Sharp (16 June 1915 - 23 July 1984) was an English actor cast for roles on television and film principally from the 1950s onwards. A former insurance policy draughtsman, and a graduate of LAMDA, Sharp performed on stage before his war service in the Royal Artillery (1940-46). Concentrating on aristocratic, professional or middle-class types, Sharp was cast in several of Stanley Kubrick's films (A Clockwork Orange and Barry Lyndon). A regular in sitcoms, Sharp played a vicar in two episodes of Galton and Simpson's Steptoe & Son (1972, 1974), Colonel DeVere-Brown in the Rising Damp episode "Stand Up And Be Counted" and the Brigadier friend of Penelope Keith's character in To the Manor more
