...a nifty portfolio of sensitive jazz photographs...the whole collection is skillfully edited and assembled... * Mississippi Rag * excellent collection. * Cadence Magazine * absorbing and varied compendium of satisfyingly specialised and often exhaustive studies. * Jazz Journal International * ..much to recommend it...All serious jazz fans will find the Annual Review of Jazz Studies books to be interesting and useful. Nothing else quite like them is available. * The IAJRC Journal * ..quite the most interesting edition of the Annual Review so far published...can serve as a very useful forum. * JazzTimes Magazine *
