These drawers, as well as trays, are provided with card locks to hold the cards in place, although the cards are not punctured and no rods are used. l In addition to the above record cards, we adopted forms upon which applications are made for licenses, also viola.tion forms upon which the Inspector reports all violations according to the inspection made by him, as described above. Upon the bottom of this violation form is a space in which the Chief of the Division writes a synopsis of the order he wishes sent to the owner or conductor of-the Tenement House. At the same time the synopsis is being written by the typewriter, a copy is made upon a white card and this copy is filed with the other inspection cards, so that a record of all orders issued against a particular house are on file with all inspection cards of said house, and when looking over its history you can see at a glance what work is to be done on it. The last form is in the nature of a letter to the owner, calling his attention to a certain violation of the law and directing him to remove the violation in a certain manner, and warning him_ to commence work within seven days or his license will be revoked; this letter also calls his attention to Section 6 of the Act of Assembly, which provides the penalty for violations of the law. We also designed two books, both being about fiftee'n(15)' inches long and eleven (11) inches wide. One is called the "Complaint Docket" and the other is called the "Violation Docket."
