Reciprocal relations existed between these two organizations during the Session, our interests are mutual; let us not present a divided front to the enemy. The strengthening of our National defenses is of paramount importance and all measures tending to this end were supported. I have reserved the best wine for the feast and now report the passage of Senate Bill No. 379. File No. 346. framed by the Department Historian, introduced by Senator Murtha of Detroit and by him. with the assistance of our comrades of the G. A. R. and U. S. W.
