Description

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Andrew Neal Allanson (born December 22, 1961 in Richmond, Virginia), is a former professional baseball catcher who played in the Major Leagues for eight seasons, from 1986 to 1995. Andy was signed as a second-round pick in the 1983 amateur draft, by the Cleveland Indians and scout Bobby Malkmus. Allanson was an exceptional defensive receiver with a powerful throwing arm, who would sometimes throw to the bases without standing up. A lithe, take-charge catcher, Allanson's handling of the 1986 Cleveland pitching staff was in part responsible for the Indians' resurgent, 84-78 mark.show more
