The other papers of the morning were, "The Relation between the E. M. F. of a Standard Clark Cell and the Density of the Zinc Sulphate Solution," by Prof, H. S. Carhart; "Rational and Empirical Formulae showing the Relation between the Magneto-motive Force (II) and the resulting Magnetization (B)" by Mr. Charles E. Emery and "A Dynamo Indicator or Instantaneous Curvewriting Voltmeter" by Prof. E. L. Nichols. The afternoon session was devoted to visiting the town of Pullman with its attractions, The evening meeting was held at the new club rooms of the Chicago Electric Club at which Lieut. Frank J. Sprague, the newly elected president of the Institute, delivered his address, which is printed in abstract elsewhere in these columns. In spite of the very heavy rain, the club rooms were crowded to their fullest capacity and the reception to the visitors was in every way a cordial and a marked success. Mr, Sprague's paper was listened to with close attention, Following it an excellent lunch was served. At Tuesday forenoon session the following papers were read; "The Magnetic Permeability of Special Irons for Electrical Purposes'" by Messrs. M. L. Thompson, I'. II. Knight and G. VV. Bacon; "Notes on Viping Contact Methods for Current and Potential Measurement," by Prof. B. F. Thomas; "A Life and Efiiciency Test of Incandescent Lamps, ' by Prof. Thomas; and "Some Points for Electrical Engineers," by Mr. II. A. Foster.
