Review Text

Boysie Oakes, the laughable liability, is again studiously avoiding the sight of blood in the best anti-Bond tradition. Boysie is mannapped to a girl's school (that substitutes leather for Latin, satin and lace) by a stranger, Petronella Whitching, and an even stranger Dr. Klara Thirel. Klara, it is hinted, is of a certain World War II's manic lineage but is spawning anti-Nazi nasties in the form of "subversive superwomen." But whose side is she on? Boysie naturally jumps the gun in the form of a unique "Hovercraft," and just barely manages to discover the real enemy before Amber Nine flashes to Red alert. Not as hilarious as Sheckley's The Game of X but perspicuous parody. (Kirkus Reviews)show more
