While the alumnae chapter partakes possibly a little more of the nature of the social club than does the collegiate chapter, a very strong motive for its organization was to aid and supplement the work of the active chapter. Many of the alumnae are regular attendants at the business meetings of the collegiate chapter and all are finding their interest in Alpha Xi Delta and affairs collegiate in general rekindled. Seventeen names were affixed to the petition though Edith Taylor "back slid," having suddenly changed her plans and decided to reenter College. The Third Inter-Sorority Conference was called by Delta (iamnia t Chicago, September 16 and 17, 1904. The opening session was held at the Columbus Safety Deposit Vaults on the afternoon of September 16, followed by an all-day session in the parlors of the Victoria Hotel.
