A man receives a bill one day for a white chandelier that he never ordered and has never seen. This mysterious document turns out to be the hinge of his world; his attempts to make sense of it lead him to facts about himself, his marriage and his orderly life that had previously been hidden from him. The undoing of carefully nurtured illusions, and his discovery of painful and exhilarating new truths, form the foundations of as dramatic a novel as Anita Shreve has ever written. Set in New England and Florida during the 1920s, All He Ever Wanted gives us a marriage, betrayal and the search for redemption from the vantage points of both a husband and a wife. It has the unmatched attention to details of place, emotion and period that have made Anita Shreve one of the world's best-loved and bestselling novelists.

About Anita Shreve

Anita Shreve is the author of nine critically acclaimed and bestselling novels. Although she was awarded an O. Lorelei King has worked on film in House of Mirth and Notting Hill. Television includes Cold Feet, Jonathan Creek and Monarch of the Glen. She was voted Female Performer of the Year at the Spoken Word Awards 2001 and her many audio book readings have been acclaimed. Garrick Hagon has had a career in film, TV and theatre, during which he has been directed by Charlton Heston, George Lucas and Richard Attenborough. On radio, for several years he was Simon Gerrard in The Archers. His most recent films are Black Book, La Vie En Rose and Churchill at War.
