Dr. Valentine claims that this solution being used in large quantities, not only thoroughly cleanses the urethra, but also leaves the mucous membrane in a oedematous condition, which is not a fertile field for the rapid development of the gonococcus. Whatever explanation may be given to the condition and effects of the medicine upon the membrane with which it comes in contact, the results may be relied upon, and that is the ultimatum for which we are all eagerly seeking.
