She was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1958 to Raphael Walsh, a furniture designer and manufacturer from Navan, County Meath. Walsh studied at the D n Laoghaire School of Art and Design and at The National Film School in Beaconsfield, England. Walsh wrote and directed Song for a Raggy Boy, which won numerous awards at international film festivals, including the Best Film award at the Copenhagen International Film Festival in 2003. She also wrote and directed Joyriders (1989), Damage (2008), Invisible State (2006) and The Daisy Chain.show more
