Eleven years ago, Jem and Ralph fell in love. They thought it would be for ever, that they'd found their happy ending.

Then two became four, a flat became a house. Romantic nights out became sleepless nights in.

And they soon found that life wasn't quite so simple any more.

Now two people who were so right together are starting to drift apart. As they try to find a way back to each other, back to what they once had, they both become dangerously distracted.

But maybe it's not too late to recapture happily ever after ...

Our customer reviews

I was so looking forward to reading this book as I had read "Ralph's Party" when it was first published and loved it. Since then I have read every one of Lisa's books and enjoyed them all. Apart from this one. I so wanted to love it but I was so disappointed. Yes, we all change and having children affects one relationship and I've been there but I just couldn't empathise with Ralph or Jem. And the other characters in the book weren't developed enough to really play a part in the storyline. I hope Lisa gets her "mojo" back as she was a bit too melancholic in this more

I absolutely loved Ralphs Party when I read it years ago, and have been a big Lisa Jewell fan ever since (buying and reading all her books). When I heard that there was a sequel to Ralphs Party I was beside myself and could not wait for it to come out, I mean who wouldnt want to know what had happened to Ralph and Jem after they _finally_ got together in the first book? The sequel did not disappoint. I absolutely loved the way that it showed how people change over time, both in their circumstances and how they approach things, how they feel about things. And how relationships change, both through time lapsed and also major events such as having children. Since reading the first book, I too had settled down, had children, and I found lots of similarities in the book to our family life. In fact so much so, that I found myself continually asking my husband questions about how he felt about x,y or z as I wanted to see if he felt the same as Ralph about life, love, work etc. In the end he told me to shut up and just finish the book as it wasnt written about us! haha. I cannot say too much more without giving the plot away, but if you enjoyed Ralphs Party you should buy and read this book - I could not put it down, honestly, and loved every minute of it. Highly recommended :)show more
