Cosmic Adventures through the Sensors, Perception, and Logic of a Robot: An accident causes a robot to become its own master and start considering itself human. The change within the robot, ID T4097, makes it much more creative and decisive than its brethren. However, the new state of the robot's mind is in conflict with the Three Laws of Robotics. A human learns about the conflict and postulates that the robot must be terminated. But, being required now to protect its existence as if it were human, T4097 evades the sentence by hijacking the man's spaceship, with the man aboard. Then, realizing that it can't dock the ship anywhere within the solar system, the robot programs the ship to make a random hyperspace jump. The jump brings the ship into the region of the universe belonging to a Spacer planet Aquantia. There the robot and the man are immediately thrust into a very aggressive affair that involves both a murder of a prominent Aquantian citizen and a geopolitical threat to the Earth itself!
