Jimmy Frank loves to spend time with his grandparents, especially at their farm. His many adventures with them help Jimmy Frank to learn that he has many more abilities than disabilities, and that he is very much like every other young boy his age. In "The Cherry Tree Stick Monster," Jimmy Frank discovers the unexpected while picking cherries in his grandmother's orchard. About Julie Pettee Bates

Author, Julie Pettee Bates, due to an autoimmune disorder, spent many summer days of her youth, in the children's library in her hometown of Princeton, Illinois. At a very young age, she loved to read and dreamed of someday writing books of her own. Working for over thirty years with families with children and older individuals with disabilities, she studies, writes about, and is an advocate for the full inclusion of people with disabilities, within the covenant community of the Christian Church and the larger community. She has raised three children, including twin sons who were born premature and struggled with learning and developmental disabilities of their own. Her daughter and sons are all now adults and successful in their own lives. Julie Pettee Bates lives with her husband in rural Nebraska, where she is working on a Masters of Divinity, gardens along with many other hobbies, and shares a wood shop with her husband.show more
