Description

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Adlington railway station serves the village of Adlington in Cheshire. It was manned for many years but is now unstaffed. The station building is now privately owned and there is no longer a ticket machine, so passengers must purchase their ticket on the train. Opened by the London and North Western Railway, it became part of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway during the Grouping of 1923. The line then passed on to the London Midland Region of British Railways on nationalisation in 1948.show more
