Description

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Adanarsa is a genus of snout moths in the subfamily Phycitinae. It was described by Heinrich in 1956. It contains the species Adanarsa intransitella, which was originally described as Rhodophaea intransitella by Dyar, in 1905. It is found in North America, including Arizona, New Mexicocite_ref-2[3] and California. The Pyralidae or snout moths are a family of Lepidoptera in the ditrysian superfamily Pyraloidea. In many (particularly older) classifications, the grass moths (Crambidae) are included in the Pyralidae as a subfamily, making the combined group one of the largest families in the Lepidoptera. The latest review by Munroe & Solis, in Kristensen (1999)[Full citation needed] retains the Crambidae as a full family of pyraloidea.show more
