The-property has a m'ill in operation and has been making shipments since October, 1917. The available and indicated ore is figured at 385,320 tons, averaging $11.22 in gold. Up to October, 1917, the expenditures on the purchase and equipment totalled $723,002. Development: Recent acquisitions by the Surprise Mining Co. include the 13081111 mine. Lwmu the Ajax Fraction, near the Last Chance, and the Mlonitor c aim, near Three Egrks. The company has also done some work on the Elkhorn group. In order to increase the milling capacity, the Rosebery concentrator has been leased by the company and considerable improvements made thereto. 1917 output: 2,199,733 lbs. lead, 2,068,678 lbs. zinc, 342,790 ozs. silver.
