Use them to decorate your clothes and accessories, to give as gifts - or to decorate your gift wrap and greetings cards - and to collect as a creative display piece.

These entrancing little beasts are thoughtfully displayed in a directory at the front of the book. Choose from winged insects and flying fancies, hanging horrors, cute ladybugs and perfect honeybees, tropical terrors and backyard favourites.

Each critter is cross-referenced to a complete pattern and/or chart at the back of the book, with information on stuffing, finishing and yarn requirements: plus helpful hints on creating iridescence and translucent wings. You'll also find a mixture of fun and fabulous ideas for using the creatures in a range of styles and settings: children's designs, quirky homewares, and elegant fashion accessories.

What better way to surround yourself with nature than to bring it indoors in knitted form? This book is a glorious collection, including all things bright and beautiful from hedgerow flowers to mushrooms, snowflakes to starfish, pebbles to seaweed, dragonflies to doves, leaves to ladybirds, and vegetables to caterpillars, not forgetting even the humble slug! There are notes and tips to help get you started and project ideas at the back of the book. It's a pure delight! * Simply Knitting *

Our customer reviews

VERY disappointed with this book. Yes, it has lovely patterns in it, but it's title is misleading. There are not "birds" in this book, just 1 singular bird. In fact, I think it should have been titled "Lots of Vegetables and Leaves with a Few Cute Beasties". If I wanted a book of leaves and vegetables, I would have bought one. I think there was maybe 4 or 5 butterflies, and only 1 bird, and a few insects. Mostly leaves and vegetables. I will probably give this book away.show more
