Description

From ancient Japan's most enduring tale, the epic 3D fantasy-adventure "47 Ronin" is born. Keanu Reeves leads the cast as Kai, an outcast who joins Oishi (Hiroyuki Sanada), the leader of the 47 Ronin. Together they seek vengeance upon the treacherous overlord who killed their master and banished their kind. To restore honour to their homeland, the warriors embark upon a quest that challenges them with a series of trials that would destroy ordinary warriors. "47 Ronin" is helmed by visionary director Carl Erik Rinsch ("The Gift"). Inspired by styles as diverse as Miyazaki and Hokusai, Rinsch will bring to life the stunning landscapes and enormous battles that will display the timeless Ronin story to global audiences in a way that's never been seen before.show more

Our customer reviews

I bought this on day one. I sought this book out as soon as I Heard Ms. Vinge had taken on the Subject of the Honorable 47 Ronin. It is outstanding in that it is not her usual Subject matter as she is most widely known for being an award winning a Science Fiction Author. First and foremost let me say that this is not a movie novelization but in fact a Novel based on the movie, that is far and beyond anything that Hollyweird could imagine. Having always been a fan of Japanese history and their rich mythology I couldn't wait to see what this Amazing Author could do with a historical fiction. I was not disappointed. The Story and Characters were fantastic and managed to masterfully blend the mythology with the historical. I think I would prefer that there had been an extra hour added to the movie to include a few more of the key elements found in this Novel. This was truly a refreshing break from the glut of what supposedly passes for a good read nowadays and proves that we don't need glittery vampires or sado masochistic misogyny to enjoy cuddling up with a good book again. Please do yourself and your imagination a favor and read this before or instead of watching the film because though the film was great this will make you smile, cry and cheer for the memory of the most honorable 47 Ronin in a way that is impossible in any form but the minds eye. Thank you Mistress Vinge for knocking another one out of the park. Now let's get a New Cat book...Long Live the Queen!show more
