It was re-formed as 33rd Independent Infantry Brigade(Guards) in October 1941 during the Second World War, under the command of Brigadier J. Jefferson. The Brigade included 6th Battalion, Coldstream Guards, 3rd Battalion, Irish Guards, and 3rd Battalion, Welsh Guards.
