Ressurecting modern space opera...
I bought this book on a bargain deal (every book was about ?1)... Most of what was offered were books from the middle of big series, but I managed to find some stand alone novels or the first parts of the series (for that money the worst that could happen in that case is I'd at least know the series sucks)...
ASTROPOLIS Saturn Returns won me over by its cover so even before I read the brief synopsis I decided to pick it up. From the first chapter it managed to capture me. It's amazing that with literally a couple of characters (even though they might be duplicated) Williams manages to portrait a story of such importance for the whole space.
This version of the future is very rich in detail and vision. The world of over-clockers and other type of human existing here is very intricate.
This one is a page turner. Twist after twist, revelation after revelations. Its relentless pace will definitely pull you in and by the time you're finished you will be sorry if you haven't bought the books that follow (just like I did). by Josip Malenica
