Step away from the book
Seriously, this is the worst thing that a woman can read when pregnant.
Awful information, impossible standards of diet, dangerous advice on birth and too many scenarios to make even the strongest willed new expecting mom start being a hypochondriac.
This book is designed for women who have no idea about pregnancy and birth and don't want to know more. It is designed for those who want a very limited and stressful pregnancy and highly medicalized birth and basically tells women not to question any of the procedures or the doctors.
Unless you want to make life miserable for the expecting person in your life, or for yourself if you are expecting, do not get this book.
There are many better ones out there: "The Complete Book of Pregnancy and Childbirth" by Sheila Kitzinger or "The Pregnancy Book" by William and Martha Sears are two examples. by Melissa Bellemare
