Reviews for Uglies
An Amazing Read
After finishing the "City of" series, I didn't think I would find anything so compelling to read, but this series blew me over. I read it on a recommendation and decided to give it a go, I fell in love. This story has everything, love, betrayal, loathing, greed and it kept me on edge. It was so amazing that I finished all 3 books in a few days, I COULD NOT put it down. I recommend this series to anyone, no matter what the age, I'm 19 and loved it. I am really sad that I have no more to read though. by Sharni Hussey
I LOVED IT!
Everybody gets to be supermodel gorgeous. What could be wrong with that?
Tally is about to turn sixteen, and she can't wait. Not for her license -- for turning pretty. In Tally's world, your sixteenth birthday brings an operation that turns you from a repellent ugly into a stunningly attractive pretty and catapults you into a high-tech paradise where your only job is to have a really great time. In just a few weeks Tally will be there.
But Tally's new friend Shay isn't sure she wants to be pretty. She'd rather risk life on the outside. When Shay runs away, Tally learns about a whole new side of the pretty world -- and it isn't very pretty. The authorities offer Tally the worst choice she can imagine: find her friend and turn her in, or never turn pretty at all. The choice Tally makes changes her world forever.
-At first i thought this book was really boring but my friend who had recommended it kept saying to me just to keep reading so I did, and it was worth it, I cant wait to read pretties. Trust me on this one, if you buy it and find it boring, DO NOT STOP READING IT, because i thought it was fantastic once i fully understood it.
I recommend this book to 12 to around 15 year olds
