Reviews for Vernon God Little
Play the (fake) game
A vivid description of today's superficial society that identifies with reality-shows' actors and finds life values in shallow TV-shows. A story about the power of the media that control people's choices by forging "truths" that people will buy - in any sense - without questioning. Vernon Little is only a pretext for the story, he's himself too part of this society and plays its game. He's not a nonconformist hero who is misunderstood, but a whimsical character with a weak identity that doesn't touch the reader. Contrary to what somebody has suggested, he's certainly very far from Holden Caulfield, The catcher in the rye, a true independent player with a rich emotional life. by Agnese Mariotti
