Reviews for The Road
a must
i agree with previous reviewer...the full impact of the book only hitting you once you've finished. for me, it was a bit slow to begin with, but then suddenly it became addictive, culminating in me preferring to be home reading it than out socialising. it is very sad, but i am so glad i read this book. by tracey Bajars

Compelling.
A devastatingly sad and beautiful tale set in a post-apocalyptic America. McCarthy's prose is harrowing at times, and the descriptive imagery is haunting; yet I did not regret reading this book. It gives you much to think about; the full impact of the story only hitting you when you've finished the book. The Road can be bleak and unsettling, but it's essential reading. Highly recommended. by Fran Adams
Bravery and Hope.
It took me a while to finish this book but no regrets when I finally finished it. Highly recommended for the patient reader. A journey of a father and son through a ravaged and burned America. With only a pistol with a few left bullets to defend themselves. A future with no hope but for father and son having the love for each other is enough to sustain and keep them going. Vivid, thought provoking and endearing story of hope, courage and love. by R.D-Diaz
