DescriptionThe Wonky Donkey is based on an award-winning children’s song. With hilarious lyrics and illustrations, this picture book will appeal to adults and children alike. In this very funny, cumulative song, each page tells us something new about the donkey until we end up with a spunky, hanky-panky cranky stinky dinky lanky honky-tonky winky wonky donkey, which will have children in fits of laughter. Please note: The book does not include a recording of the song. The song may be downloaded only in the United States and Canada.

  • Brilliant!5

Liz Tibbutt The best testament about this book is that the author lives near us and whenever we see him out and about, there are always littlies (including mine) pointing excitedly and saying, "Look - that's the wonky donkey man." by Liz Tibbutt

Georgina Smith I am a early childhood educator and have read this book many times. The children enjoy the repetitive words and complete the sentence before I do. We always follow the reading of the book with the C.D., which encourages the children to dance after sitting still for the story, it also gives them an opportunity to work the giggles out. georgina by Georgina Smith

  • Great Kids book from NZ author5

Natasha Barnett We first heard Craig Smith, the author, sing this story at a local pizza restaurant to a group of children, they were enraptured with the story as we were. So when it was released here in NZ as a book with CD, I bought a copy for my godson who was turning 2 and gave it to him for his birthday. He absolutely loves the Wonky Donkey and often wants it read to him, needless to say it is now a well worn book. by Natasha Barnett

  • PLEASE note3

Angela Henderson This is a great book, loads of children enjoy its funny lines and repetition. BUT please note, this version DOESN'T include the CD and I had trouble trying to download the song from the website they provided. It was lucky I already had the CD version of the book. For those that are worried about the cover, put some clear seal/duraseal over it. It will protect it and you can wipe it clean. by Angela Henderson

  • Great Book5

Laura Day My two girls absolutely love this book. They wait & giggle in anticipation for the "stinky dinky" page!! We have also seen Craig Smith perform this to groups of kids who are all transfixed by him & the songs. Look out for Willbee the Bumblebee....... by Laura Day

  • Disappointing1

angela seymour This was my first purchase from the Book Depository and I have been quite disappointed - I know the book was inexpensive but it really does look and feel very cheap. It's (very flimsy) front cover is not big enough so the inside pages inside stick out.

Also, the reference to the website for downloading the song is useless - it says you can only access it if you live in the US or Canada which we don't?

The story itself is ok I guess but what I thought would be quirky and fun has really just been a disappointment. by angela seymour

Erin Phillips An awesome book from a New Zealand Author. Your kids will love it. I've never meet a child who was scared of the book yet. by Erin Phillips

  • Great Book!5

Linda Harris My son received this book twice for christmas, it is awesome and funny. by Linda Harris

  • Terrified!1

Karen McGoldrick They recently read this story at my daughters kinder and she is terrified of it! I'm sorry but a bird pecking out the eye of a donkey is not a great way to start a book!
If you have a sensitive child I DO NOT recommend this book by Karen McGoldrick
