'My name is August. I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse.' Auggie wants to be an ordinary ten-year-old. He does ordinary things - eating ice cream, playing on his Xbox. He feels ordinary - inside. But ordinary kids don't make other ordinary kids run away screaming in playgrounds. Ordinary kids aren't stared at wherever they go. Born with a terrible facial abnormality, Auggie has been home-schooled by his parents his whole life. Now, for the first time, he's being sent to a real school - and he's dreading it. All he wants is to be accepted - but can he convince his new classmates that he's just like them, underneath it all? Now featuring a brand-new chapter told by bully Julian, Wonder is a funny, frank, astonishingly moving debut to read in one sitting, pass on to others, and remember long after the final page.

Recommended here. And, I am glad that I did. A warm hearted story touched my heart. Worth to keep it on the shelf for years. Read over and over.
P.S. Oh yeah, adults should be reading too :)

My 10 year old son and I have been reading this book together, we have laughed together and cried together, we have both thoroughly enjoyed it. My son did not want it to end so limited how many pages a day we were allowed to read near the end of the story :) I highly recommend this book and think it teaches more than one valuable life lesson.

This is a wonderful story which I just loved. Most of my friends have read it and loved it too. My 10 year old daughter has just finished the book and found it very enlightening and has recommended it to a lot of her friends as well. It truly is a story for all, recommend for readers aged 10 and up.
"Incredibly charming, brutal and brilliant" Observer "What a gem of a story. Moving and heart-warming. This book made me laugh, made me angry, made me cry" -- Malorie Blackman "The breakout publishing sensation of 2012 will come courtesy of Palacio, a New York graphic designer whose debut novel, Wonder, is destined to go the way of Mark Haddon's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and then some ... It is dark, funny, touching and no Tube carriage will be without a copy this year" The Times "It wreaks emotional havoc ... To finish it with a firm resolve to be a better person - well, you can't ask much more of any book than that" Independent "When the kids have finished with this, the adults will want to read it. Everybody should" Financial Times
