In a fading town, far from anyone he knew or trusted, a young Lemony Snicket began his apprenticeship in an organization nobody knows about. He started by asking questions that shouldn't have been on his mind. Now he has written an account that should not be published, in four volumes that shouldn't be read. This is the first volume.

Don't be deceived by the cover and think this is a story that will only please kids and teenagers. A friend of mine insisted that I should give it a try and I fell in love with the story. From the smallest character and the wordplays until the illustrations and plot twists.
I could never figure out what the ending would be, who was good or bad and then how I finished reading it in a single day, but I did and I was astonished by Lemony Snicket/Daniel Handler's writing!
Recommended a thousand times to everyone who enjoys a creative and intriguing plot.
