Reviews for The Way We Fall
The Way We Fall
Thanks to Disney-Hyperion and Netgalley for kindly providing me an eARC of this book to read and review.
This book is written in a diary-like format from Kaelyn, the main character, to Leo, her friend who lives in New York.
Kaelyn lives on an island off the coast of Canada. She used to be shy but with the new school year starting up, wants to change all that and become more outgoing.
When a mysterious and deadly virus outbreak hits the tiny island, no one is safe from it. Its unlike anything doctors have seen before. It seems like a cold or the flu, at first, with the coughing, and sneezing. Then the infected start to scratch at their skin profusely. The last stages of the virus makes the contaminated people confused and do unpredictable things. And the final stage of the deadly virus is just that, death.
The government becomes afraid and quarantines the island, making everyone on the island either survive it or die from the virus.
Terrifying and heartbreaking at the same time. A great Dystopian book. Kaelyn is a believable character, I like how she grows within the book.
The ending was kind of sudden, I'll keep my eyes peeled for book two.
