Product description

The world we knew is gone. The world of commerce and frivolous necessity has been replaced by a world of survival and responsibility. An epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe, causing the dead to rise and feed on the living. In a matter of months society has crumbled: no government, no grocery stores, no mail delivery, no cable TV. In a world ruled by the dead, the survivors are forced to finally start living. Available for the first time in the US, the first volume of The Walking Dead saga is presented in Spanish.

Having read this epic series of zombie apocalypse many times through now, I believe I can safely write a decent review about them.

The Walking Dead, Volume One: Days Gone Bye is an incredibly suspenseful, realistic and exciting introduction to the protagonist Rick Grimes.
Waking from a coma to find the world utterly devastated by a zombie plague of unknown origin, we follow a truly terrifying journey of discovery as Rick vows to find his family and protect them to the bitter end.
We are introduced to Robert Kirkman's highly addictive and scary take on how people would be affected and changed in the face of such a drastic catastrophe. The dead now rule the world, and the living are forced into a corner by the relentless zombie hordes. Bitter inter-personal conflicts threaten to tear apart newly found alliances among the few surviving groups. We come to realise how much we rely on others, not just for physical protection, but emotionally as well. Surviving the walking dead is one thing; surviving the heartbreak of losing those close to you is another thing entirely.

This is the only volume in which Tony Moore illustrates, and his work is absolutely breathtaking. While the illustrations in later books are still good, this first issue is a must-see, and will blow your mind with the gruesome detail that many zombie-fanatics live to witness.

This series is well worth the investment; you will get many hours of enjoyment, not only reading and examining the fantastic art, but also pondering the huge cast of character's actions and reactions.
