We're in the middle of the Tour de France. High drama already with lots of crashes, angry outbursts and accusations all around (are team Sky doping? Or, has everyone else stopped doping and are just going slower?)
If it gets you in the mood to hop on your bike and head to la belle France then Lonely Planet have some great guide books to help you plan your trip and they've been good enough to give us a sample to have a look at. As the Tour is off to the Pyrenees here's a few pages from that region.
(PS Lonely Planet don't just do cycling guide books to France. Lots of places!)

Since childhood, Kusama has been afflicted with a condition that makes her see spots, which means she sees the world in a surreal, almost hallucinogenic way that sits very well with the Wonderland of Alice. She is fascinated by childhood and the way adults have the ability, at their most creative, to see things the way children do, a central concern of the Alice books, by Lewis Carroll.
The book is colour illustrated to very high specification, with her images interspersed thoughtfully throughout the text and produced in collaboration with the Kusama Studio, Tokyo and Gagosian Gallery.
This one is going on top of our wishlist...

You've never seen tarot cards quite like these. Imagine the celebrated "Rider Deck" infused with the horrors of Night of the Living Dead, and the result is The Zombie Tarot-a crazy, campy interpretation of a classic divination system.
In this zombified parallel universe, wands become limbs, pentacles are biohazard symbols, and the Major Arcana is full of shambling corpses. Along with the 78-card deck, readers will receive instructions in a 96-page full-color book; its contents explain how to survive the zombie apocalypse and forecast your future using one of three different card layouts.
The secrets of The Zombie Tarot await you!

This 14 year old couldn't get enough of Judge Dredd and the four Dark Judges when he first came across them in 1985... Come 1995 not even Stallone dispensing his own lethal judgement on the character of Dredd could dampen the enthusiasm. Now there's a new attempt to film Dredd with a screenplay by Alex Garland among others although judging from the trailer I wouldn't hold out too much hope for the new movie coming in September but at least it's sent me running back to the glorious 2000AD comics, lovingly collected in a fantastic series.

Poor Damian. You should have taken better care of yourself. You treated your body like a run-down shed until it actually came to resemble one. And that laughter of yours... so loud, so hearty, so worrisome. You loved comedy, didn't you Damian? From comedy shows to clown pranks, you would never miss the opportunity to have a good laugh, the buttons of your purple suit jacket one chuckle away from popping.
And so it was meant to be. Thanks to TBD's finest detective, Tomas Hoskovec, the coroner was able to conclude that Damian died of laughter. Jolly and loud, as always. RIP Damian Blade.
The coroner will soon send Tomas a collection of 50 crime capers as a thank you for solving this peculiar case. He would also like to highlight some of the scenarios other detectives offered for their creativity, humour and imagination.
Big thank you to all the detectives who participated!
It's the poisonous remote on the armchair
A naked woman on the TV!
Damian is a hummingbird
His heart rate went crazy because he saw his long time love got married with someone else on TV.
The Nurse did it.
Damien is a moth!
Wife nude on TV
An orangutan who escaped up the chimney.
I know exactly how it happened but I shall only speak to the proper authorities!
He saw the ghost of Ghengis Khan
I did it because I want to win the books!!!!
He won the lottery while watching TV and died of a heart attack. The lottery presenter did it on purpose to kill him as the two have hated each other since kindergarten.
Ate a mothball, thinking it was a mint
Damian snores with his mouth open and the moths took their revenge
I did it
Ok, I confess. He wouldn't hand over the remote.
The moths turned nasty.
I don't know, so horrible!
Batman killed him
The clown did it
Kate Reynolds stands behind Damien, stabbing him in the back with the dagger.
I still say it was the moths.
