Reviews for The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Like your other reviewers, I was surprised and disappointed when I received this book as it is so tiny! While it is true that you can check the dimensions of a book by looking at the bibliographic details, I, too, feel the fact that this is a miniature book should have been stated quite clearly on the website, without customers having to search for this information. by Glenys Bowman
I ordered this for my 8 month old neice and like the others was mislead by it being called a board book. I thought I must have misread it and made a mistake, but looking at the comments from others, I don't think this was my fault. I usually love ordering and recieving my books from here, but this was very disappointing. I'm not wondering what I'm going to do with this tiny little book... by Michelle
Extremely disappointed by false advertising
I ordered two copies of this awesome classic story, it was categorised as a board book, and no mention was made as to the size, so I assumed it was normal size. I received hard cover books with paper pages that look cheap and nowhere near as good as the original, and both books have a stain on one page! This is in no way a board book! and as another reviewer said, it's the size of my hand! I'm really angry, they were meant to be christmas presents, but these aren't worth giving! by Kathryn Chow
This book is not a board book. A board book means that all the pages are made of board. This is a tiny hardback with paper pages. Cute book, but disappointed with the product. by Maryke McLeish
Great story but this should be described as a board book not a hardback. by Lorina Mulcahy
I presumed that this was the case due to price, and then confirmed it in the bibliographic data (which is easily accessible on the site, you really should check it if you are unsure!)
However, I do agree; this book is available in a huge variety of formats from the size of a school desk down to this miniature edition. I think The Book depository should mention this in future listings. Amazon and many other online retailers clearly highlight this important detail.
So, just to confirm for future buyers: This is the miniature edition (Width: 134.00 mm / Height: 100.00 mm)
It's a wonderful book in any size though! by Joe Hastings

I was shocked to receive the miniature version of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. This book is the size of my hand - wish it was made more obvious in the advertisement of this book. by Michelle Abou-Rizk
