When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home. Except there's something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she'll turn to dust if he touches her. It's not until Dez's father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there's more to this boy--and her father's "law firm"--than she realized. Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation--an organization devoted to collecting "special" kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons--his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. The two team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they're caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe. A secret Kale will kill to protect.

Favourite Quote: "In the short trip, Kale managed to piss off a pregnant women by calling her large and a Goth kid for inquiring about his makeup. If we hadn't gotten off the bus when we did, there probably would have been a riot."
I really, really liked this book. The characters were awesome starting with Deznee; she was funny, a bit crazy but a totally cool person who I'm sure if I met, we'd get on amazingly. She grows throughout the book and I loved her by the end of it. Then there's Kale, oh Kale who couldn't love him. He was just so innocent and pure and awesome and hot and heroic and EVERYTHING. These two characters is what makes this book amazing although in my opinion there was a bit of insta-love and I hated that so it did affect my enjoyment but overall all I liked the characters and their relationships with one another.
The plot was very fast paced and adventurous within the first 10 pages we're thrown into a supernatural world. And it is a very interesting world similar to X-Men and all the other superhero action films. I felt the plot was a little too fast but I still enjoyed it. Some points in the plot were predictable to me anyways but there was enough twists and turns that it didn't matter. The ending again doesn't leave on a nail-biting cliffhanger but it still makes you want to the read the next book in the series. So I give these book 4 stars!!!!

Touch was an easy but very entertaining read. I loved everything about it. The characters, the plot and even Kale and Deznee's relationship. I loved the idea of Sixes (teens with powers) and Denazen (evil, bad people who hunt and enslave the sixes). It sort of reminded me of X-men and I'm glad cause I loved that too! The book was very engaging and had a lot of twists and turns. It kept on the edge of my seat from beginning till the end! ;)
Deznee was a really interesting character. She was very bold and I love that about her. There was a lot of things that happen to her in the book and through it all she keeps a clear head, except one it comes to Kale getting hurt. ;p It was a surprise for me to find out that Dez was a Six and so was her mother. It made the entire story very interesting and cool! I, especially, love her relationship with Kale. When she first meets him, she only thinks that he is good looking and feels an instant connection to him. As the story progresses, she and Kale become very close and develop a really sweet and innocent romance. It was perfect!
Kale is just funny, sweet and cute all at the same time. He's not your typical supernatural guys. Yes he has powers but he is completely oblivious to the outside world. A lot of his actions made me laugh so hard, I actually had tears in my eyes! LOL ;) Like in the beginning when he first touches Dez and finds out that she can survive his touch, he just keeps on staring at her even though they were in danger at the moment! ;p Another, thing I love about Kale (besides his HOTNESS) is that he truly doesn't know what a relationship is or how people behave in one. He was really innocent towards his feelings for Dez. In the beginning, he doesn't understand why his heart beats so fast every time Dez comes near him and he tells her that. I loved this part of the story. His romance was so sweet and not at all cheezy, I loved that about this book and Kale.
My favourite part of the book was when Dez kisses Kale on the cheek. He was so fascinated by it he asks her to do it again. This time she kisses him and Kale explodes. He doesn't know that a kiss is a romantic gesture but asks Dez to do it over and over again. It was hilarious and sweet. I loved Kale's innocent nature and character! It was a delight to have a guy character be oblivious to such things as love. I loved the idea and was glad that it wasn't your typical girl-guy romance!
I actually loved Alex up until he does his really bad thing. I was so disappointed in him and actually thought his character would become an important character in the future (I hope he still does but for the good guys not the bad). Brandt, Dez's cousin is one of my favorite characters, he's cool and really kind and loves Dez. He helps her out in any way he can without a second's hesitation. I loved his relationship with Dez. And...oh yeah his ability was definitely awesome. It was different and very unique! (You have to read the story to find out what it is...LOL;)
Overall, I thought this book was amazing. It had the right amount of action, mystery and romance to make a perfect story. I loved it. I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book and can't wait to find out what happens between Dez and Kale! Ms. Accardo did an amazing job. I just wish the second book would come out way way way sooner (as in tomorrow, I wouldn't mind) ;p

VOYA - Dotsy Harland Seventeen-year-old Deznee Cross has a past shrouded in mystery. She does not remember her mother, who apparently died when Deznee was very young. As a feisty teenager, she spends lots of time trying to figure out ways to infuriate her emotionally distant father, an attorney. When a strange, but very good looking, boy named Kale literally falls into her path on the way home from a party one night, Dez decides to take him home with her. As luck would have it, her dad catches the boy in the house and pulls a gun. The real shock comes when Deznee realizes that the two know each other and that her father has been keeping Kale prisoner at his "law firm." She and Kale manage to escape from Mr. Cross and take off on a whirlwind adventure in which they discover that they are both "Sixes," children with special gifts, and that Deznee's mother is still alive and being held at Cross's law firm, which is not a law firm at all. Though the premise is familiar and the book could benefit from some streamlining, Accardo's writing style is forceful, descriptive, and filled with humor. This first novel in the Denazen series tastefully introduces sexual activity, in addition to including the always popular love triangle, making it more appropriate for older readers. Dez is a gratifyingly strong female character, and Touch is an excellent read-alike for those who enjoyed I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore (HarperCollins, 2010/Voya December 2010) and False Memory by Dan Krokos (Hyperion, 2012/Voya August 2012). Ages 12 to 18.
