Sookie Stackhouse enjoys her job as a cocktail waitress in Merlotte's, a small-town bar in small-town Bon Temps, deep in Louisiana. She's funny and pretty and, thanks to her grandmother, she's very well-mannered - but since not many people truly appreciate her ability to read their minds, the guys haven't exactly been beating down her door ...And then along came Bill, tall, dark and handsome - and Sookie couldn't 'hear' a word he was thinking. He was exactly the type of guy she'd been waiting all her life for. Of course, Bill had a disability of his own: fussy about his food, not into suntans, bit of a night person: yep, Bill was a vampire. But at least now Sookie nows there *are* guys she can date who won't worry about her catching them thinking about other women ...And that's going to make Sookie's life really interesting!

Filling in the gaps

yay!! Thanks Charlaine for keeping us going until the next book is released and for filling in the gaps! A collection of short stories that fill in the gaps inbetween some of the books. Some of the stories are better than others but overall I'll take anything new from this series x. Only downer...I have to re-read the entire series so I can slip the short stories in inbetween. Actually not really a downer coz I love this series and can't wait to start re-reading. Enjoyshow more

The stories between the stories...

A touch of Dead is awesome short stories that fit in between the books. For example stories in a 'Touch of Dead' include the stories about Claude, Claudette and Claudine (how the third twin died), About a night with Dracula - which is a hilarious story about how Eric is completely enthralled by the stories of Dracula (which is hilarious), A story of Sookie and Ameilia investigating some stuff in town, Also The story of how Sookie met the Queen of Louisianna, AND a story of what life is like being the great grand-daughter of Niall (another hilarious story). I think you will enjoy reading these as they fit in between the books. I only wish i had these stories where they fit in between the books rather than reading them all at once. But they answer a whole lot of questions... a must read for the Sookie Stackhouse reader! :)show more
