Reviews for The Three Weissmanns of Westport
The Three Weissmanns of Westport
I loved this book. It definitely helps to be familiar with Sense and Sensibility as it is a modern day 'homage' to the Jane Austen novel. I enjoyed identifying incidents in the book that were similar to Jane Austen's novel and recognising character traits. I love the idea of taking the concept of a classic book and producing a contemporary novel that is completely its own. The three main characters were so delightful to get to know and were explored on an intellectual level so that the reader becomes acutely aware of their inner thoughts and feelings (even if you don't agree with those thoughts). The variety of supporting characters were also unique and quirky, Cousin Lou, Rosalyn and Banks that they make you laugh out loud at their antics. The unexpected ending is brilliant in the sense that it not what you thought might occur and is a very modern ending. by Leanne Francis
